Click the page layout tab. In the table properties dialog box on the row tab select the repeat as header row at the top of each page check box.
This box is also useful when you want headers and footers on every page except the first.
How to add a new page in word with different header.
In the page setup group choose the appropriate break option from the breaks dropdown.
Or you can use this approach.
Choose file page setup and click the layout tab see figure 4 18.
In the table right click in the row that you want to repeat and then click table properties.
Click the arrow next to breaks in the page setup portion of the ribbon.
As a default in word all subsequent headers and footers link to the previous pages header and footer.
Go to layout breaks next page to create a section break.
When you need a different header of footer the first step is to enter a section break as follows.
To keep your changes from affecting the page headers in other sections click on link to previous if its enabled on the header footer tools tab.
Choose a break from the resulting dialog and click ok.
On that tab select the different first page option.
Click the page layout tab at the top of the word ribbon.
Click or tap where you want to start a new page without the header or footer.
Place your cursor anywhere on the page before the page on which you want your first header.
Scroll down and select next page on the drop down menu.
The headerfooter region becomes active and youll see a new design tab show up on your ribbon with controls for dealing with headers and footers.
Double click the header or footer area to open the header footer tab.
With the cursor in the new section activate the page header and add content.
Also note that the name of the areas on the first page change to first page header and first page footer.
Click the header or footer icon select a format or not and type the new information into the front page.
To insert a new header or footer without altering the one youve already inserted navigate to the bottom of the last page before your new header or footer and from the layout tab or the page layout tab select breaks next page as pictured below.
Select link to previous to turn off the link between the sections.
Check the different first page box if you just want a different header or footer on the first page.
In word 2003 choose break from the insert menu.
When you select that option any text already in the header and footer on the first page is deleted.
When you want a different header on a page go to the breaks menu on the page layout tab and select next page.
If you want to put a different header or footer on the first page remove the header or footer from the first page as described above and double click on the header or footer area.
