Select encrypt contents to secure data and click on apply. In the share dialog box select the set password option.
Select any files andor folders that you wish to share.
How to add a password to a folder on a shared drive.
Here under the general tab click on advanced.
Click on the share button located in the upper left corner of the screen.
Select the folder and tap on the share button at the upper left corner.
When you hide a folder or file in windows the folder or file does not appear in the directory list unless the dont show hidden files folders or drives setting is unchecked.
Right click on the folder.
A small gray menu then appears.
The link that pops up now can be copied and if shared it will ask for a password before its contents can be interacted with.
Double click the zipped file then select file and add password.
Once the share dialog box opens select the set password option.
Choose the files or a folder that you want to share.
Select the get a link option.
Now check the checkbox next to encrypt contents to secure data and click on ok.
Input the password you wish to add to the link.
Click on properties at the bottom of the context menu.
Fill out the requested information then click apply.
Scroll to the bottom of the menu to the properties tab.
Navigate to the folder on your computers shared drive that you want to password protect.
Using file explorer right click on a file or folder you want password protected.
Add a password to the link and select get a link option.
To encrypt a folder in windows right click on the folder you would like to encrypt and select properties from the context menu.
